The Jello Workout

Because after you finish it your whole body feels like Jello. There are main sets for each exercises and little sub-sets that I did in between the main sets. For example, in the squats section I did 15 squats then 24 alternating push kicks, then 15 squats, then 15 donkey kicks on the right side, 15 more squats, then 24 more alternating push kicks. Make sense? Ok, let’s get started!

Happy Tuesday!

Sorry I’ve been MIA from blogland the past few days. It was a busy weekend.

Friday night, we went to see the new Batman movie. I’ve got to say, I wasn’t as swept away as everyone else was. I saw my Facebook explode with statuses like, “Batman was the best movie I’ve seen all year!” And stuff like that. I just wasn’t as affected, I suppose. It was a good movie, but not the best I’ve ever seen. I didn’t have that overjoyed, excited feeling afterward like a good movie is supposed to give you, ya know?

Thumbs Up!

Saturday Sean and I played 3 soccer games right in a row. Bam. Bam. Bam. We left the house at 7:30am and didn’t get back till 2 pm. Needless to say, we were a little exhausted. After a big lunch, a shower, and a short nap, we headed out grocery shopping.

For us, grocery shopping is a serious production. We usually go to three different stores for different types of things. At Trader Joe’s we get things like pastas, sauces, frozen sweets, cheese, etc. We go to Whole Food for produce, yogurt, and eggs (they’re the only ones who carry local yogurt and certified humane eggs). Then we head to Publix for things like toilet paper, baking stuff, etc.

It’s fairly drawn out, but we’ve got it down to a science. After that, we just chilled the rest of the evening.

On Sunday, we ran 10 miles for my marathon training. It wasn’t easy. My lungs and heart felt fine, I could have run forever and never felt out of breath or exhausted. But my legs were screaming by the end of mile 10. My Achilles tendon was sore, my knees were hurting, and even my arms felt tired. Weird, right?

Such a big run deserved a HUGE breakfast! We had biscuits, eggs, and sautéed potatoes. I don’t know if I’ve ever said it, but if you want potatoes of any kind, Sean is the potato master. Yum!

I took a nap (because that’s what weekends are for), and then we ordered a free pizza for lunch/dinner. I got pineapple on my half. It was pretty good, actually. I first tried it while I was babysitting a few weeks ago. It also meant that Sean couldn’t have any of my side of the pizza. :)

We watched the first of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy–the extended edition. I know I’ve said it a million times, but I always have to point it out when I watch that series: Samwise Gamgee is seriously the BEST friend anyone could ever have.

Samwise Gamgee

Monday was back to work day! I started the day with an upper body workout–back, chest, shoulders, biceps, and triceps. Then I headed to work. The day went by pretty quickly, and afterwards, Sean and I made a huge mess out of the kitchen making White Chocolate Cupcakes with Cookie Dough Frosting topping with freshly baked mini cookies. It was quite a production, and it was almost 9pm by the time were done, so I didn’t even get to taste one. I hope my marketing team like them!

I started this morning with a leg workout: 3 sets each of

  • 25 weighted lunges (each leg) – 15lb, 15lb, 20lb
  • 20 weighted squats – 15lb, 15lb, 20lb
  • 25 weighted deadlifts with calf raise at the end – 15lb, 15lb, 20lb
  • 25 donkey kicks (each leg)

Hopefully I can function at my soccer game tonight. Just standing is worbly after that.

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

Make today bright for yourself and for others. Smile a little more often, and make an effort to look at negative things positively.
