Lesson learned

Ok, now that I think about it, there was no actual lesson in what went down today. In fact, it was like a freak accident sort of thing. I woke up and did my normal Thursday morning schedule. I get up, eat breakfast, head to kickboxing/boxing class around 7:30ish.

As soon as kickboxing started, I began to feel a little weird, but I chalked it up to being tired. When kickboxing class ended and went straight into boxing, I sat there for a minute or two wrapping my wrists and actually debating if I wanted to stay for boxing. I just felt weird.

I decided to push through. My theory is you always feel better after a workout, not so much after a slack-off. After about 15 minutes in, though, I started to feel dizzy and really shaky. And then my stomach rumbled. Ah ha! I was hungry. My blood sugar was low.

Apparently I was staring off into space when I made that discovery because my instructor ran over to me with a worried look on her face. This freaked me out a little. Maybe I was bleeding or something! She asked me what was wrong and I said (rather foolishly), “I gotta eat somethin’.” I’m sure I sounded like a complete doofus.

She gave me drink mix that’s supposed to supplement vitamins, minerals, and amino acids and sent me home.

I’m worried that people will think I’m not eating. I ate breakfast. I ate dinner and a snack after boxing last night. I’m an eater, I promise!

I am also a little freaked out by the feeling that accompanied my hunger. Weirdness. Dizziness. Weakness. Freaky. I went home and ate. Oatmeal. Yummy.

Here’s to hoping for no repeats.

Also, as a side note, in case you haven’t noticed, I’m trying to start a project called 25 Things Before 25 where I make a list of things to accomplish before I turn 25. Please check out the page, and contribute!
