I know everyone has one of these, a list of books on their list of “to read before I die” or something like that. My tastes in books generally vary from time to time. Sometimes I start a book and just can’t get through it. Then I come back and realize that had I read just a few pages further, I would have really loved it. I’ve only not finished one book in my life, and it’s not worth bringing attention to here.
The point is that books are so multifaceted, even in just fiction alone. And yet, they are all about the same thing.
Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot
Room by Emma Donoghue
The Help by Kathryn Stockett
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut
Lord of the Rings series by J.R.R. Tolkien (already read The Hobbit)
A Separate Peace by John Knowles
The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett
These are just a few of the many I want to read. If you want to send me a book for free (hint hint) I’ll give you my address and thank you profusely.
