I’ve been telling you about my vacations and movie selections a lot recently, and I figure you’re getting a little tired of all that and wondering what it is I’m really doing. Maybe not. I don’t know. I just feel like I haven’t told you what’s going on in my real, right-now life in a while.
I’m still at my new job as a copywriter. The way I wrote that, it’s like I expected you to think I had been fired already. Sometimes (2 specific times, actually) I feel like my boss has wanted to fire me. Alas, one more week and I have made it to the one month mark. Isn’t it weird when you feel like you just started something a week ago and it’s been a whole month? I feel like I’m doing pretty well with a few oversights and mess-ups on my part. It’s just about me learning the ropes, and them learning how I roll. That sounded like I expect them to cater to me. I just meant that they have to learn how I work in order to know how to help me with the job. IS that better? Yes, but not as cool sounding. Oh well.
In other news, Sean’s transmission needs replacing on his car, so he and I have been carpooling to work every morning. This means that we have to get up at 5:00 A.M. and leave the house by 6:00 A.M. to get Sean to work by 6:20 A.M. and me to work by 6:50 A.M. My car hates it. I put gas in my car 3 times this week., and since gas magically decided to get expensive again, my wallet has been weeping. Hopefully Sean’s car will be ready by sometime next week, though, since I can’t afford another $75 week in gasoline.
However, my bank account is continuing to suffer this weekend as I head to Florida to see my friend Jenna since she just got back from a year in Africa! I only wish I were that cool. My bank will suffer from the effects of gasoline, hotel, and food. I wish I made gobs of money so traveling wouldn’t be such a hassle. Oh well! You regret the things you don’t do, might as well take a chance and worry about big expenses later in life. Like next month!
In other news, Sean and I went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II. While it wasn’t as “action packed” as the cast said it would be in all the previews, I still enjoyed it. My favorite part: when Harry got to see Snape’s memories in the pensieve. Snape loved Lilly so much. I was moved. While it wasn’t exactly like the book (as usual) I still loved it, and I can’t believe it’s over.
Now off to pack to get on the road again! Wish me driving luck!
