I’ve totally slacked on weekend blogging. Sorry, but it’s been a nice weekend of spending time with Sean and Mitten Head and trying new foods, and…
Sean and I had an awesome 6.5 mile run Saturday. I kept a pretty slow average pace (9:44 overall), and my left hip flexor and feet were pretty unhappy after, but I was quite proud of myself for making it that far. Usually I get bored and give up after about 4 miles. It makes me feel a lot better about the half marathon coming up.
Sean and I also FINALLY (after living in Atlanta for over a year) went tubing down the Chattahoochee River. Whew! The released the dam earlier in the morning, so we had to wait til noon to go, but the water was FREEZING. They said it stays at an average 65 degrees, but the dam release made it 55 degrees.
We found a stick to help us paddle along, but when we had to get out of the water, my feet and arms went numb. After they dropped us off, the tubing lady said that if you fall in, there’s a chance of hypothermia. So, we were to swim to the side of the river, do some jumping jacks and get back in! Yeeps! It was chilly!
We went home afterward, except Sean accidentally left his driver’s license there so we ended up making two trips to the tubing place.
Afterward, we went out to Longhorn Steakhouse since Sean had a $50 gift card from work. I got shrimp and asparagus, and Sean got salmon and mashed potatoes. We even got a key lime pie slice for dessert. Yum. If there’s one way to my heart, it’s key lime pie.
