Ode to Atlanta

Ok, I’m not going to write an ode, because… well, I’m sleepy. Anyway. Sean and I have been living here for more than a year, and during our recent trip back to Pigeon Forge we both agreed that while it’s nice to visit, there is no way we could ever live there again. Maybe it’s because Atlanta has spoiled us with its mix of urban and nature.

While I once complained that Atlanta lacked the glory of the mountains (which I still maintain) there are opportunities to get outdoors and hike and experience nature, you just have to go out and find it.

That, and Atlanta is so convenient. If we want to see a movie, there’s a theater 5 minutes away. Shopping? A mall 5 minutes away? Music? Books? Museums? Ballet? Gym? Theater? All within 15 minutes. It’s just been a great place to live this past year and I’m actually looking forward to getting to know the city better.

I also like that you can drive around 70mph to get where you’re going A LOT faster. I know it’s illegal and all, and I’m working on reigning in my speeding problem. But, man, is it great to get somewhere via the interstate! I should star in a PSA for the Department of Transportation, no?
