This weekend was totally fun, and I’m a little sad it’s over. Weekends are always too short and days off are few and far between nowadays (unless you’re Sean). Friday night we relaxed and watched TV, cleaned the house a little, and prepped for the Annual Run Like Hell 5K at the Oakland Cemetery. I had planned to be a refrigerator… running.
We went to a Halloween store and asked for a box. The people there were super nice and let me go in the back to “try on” boxes. The girl must have thought I was weird because I kept putting boxes over my head and hopping up and down. I tried to explain that I was going to run a race as a refrigerator, but she seemed to think I was a freak.
The result was magical: Is your refrigerator running?
Please note my “magnets:” ABCs, a thermometer, a Pokemon Championship magnet, and a “calendar” with the race marked on it. I stocked my fridge with healthy fare, of course…
My creativity was rewarded as I won “Funniest Costume” in the costume contest after the race. Also, as I passed some guy I heard him say, “Aw man, I’m getting beaten by a refrigerator.” Too funny.
After the race, Sean and I went grocery shopping and then to a ballroom dance showcase for my work. The showcase was pretty fun, especially since it was all Motown music! Motown music is my kind of music!
Here’s just a taste of what we saw:
Sunday we just relaxed. I made potato soup in the morning. Then we went for a mini-hike/walk at the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area. It was a perfect day for it, just cool enough. After that we came home and took our weekly weekend nap. I LOVE naps. The end.
After that, we headed to the soccer game to play the “Coyotes.” We lost but played really well. We just didn’t have a goalie. It was sad face. But oh well! Sean and I ordered pizza and watched parts of football games, I think it’s becoming a Sunday tradition, although we should probably chill on the pizza. Yeeps!
How was everyone else’s weekend? What did you guys do?
