This weekend was so very nice. Saturday I got up early to run, but decided to put it off. Instead, I spent the morning in my PJs with Sean and the naughty cats. At about 8, I pulled myself up and headed to an interval class at the YMCA. From there I headed to the soccer fields to play a hot, sweaty game with my rec league team. It had rained the night before, and some parts of the field were nasty mud pits. When I say nasty, I mean they were deep and sloshy and smelled like zoo poo. Yucko.

After soccer, I made it home for lunch, a shower, and a nap. Seriously, I have a sleeping problem. My knee was killing me after soccer. I don’t know exactly what happened, but I’m pretty sure some guy tried to knee me as hard as he possibly could in the knee after I took the ball from him. Then he fell on the ground and told the ref fouled him. Awesome sportsmanship.
We chillaxed for the rest of Saturday, went to a few stores, etc.
On Sunday, I had to get in my run that I put off on Saturday. I was supposed to work through 10 miles, but my knee was having none of it. It was killing me when I started out, and it took about a half to full mile for my adrenaline to dull the pain. By mile 8, though, it had worn off or my knee injury had worked its way through the adrenaline. I had to stop 2 miles early, come home, and ice the old knee.
I slept A LOT on Sunday. I mean, a ridiculous amount. I ate breakfast after the run, took a shower, and then a nap. Got up, had a snack, started laundry, went back to bed, woke up to fold laundry, then went back to bed. I guess my body was craving a rest day where I actually rested. It felt amazing. I sat on the couch or laid in bed most of the day. We had leftovers for dinner.And I had dessert… twice.
And now we’re back on Monday. I don’t want to wish my life away, but I hope this week goes as quickly as last week.
