Sean isn’t as strict a vegetarian as I am. He really just abides by vegetarianism at home because I refuse to cook meat. However, if we go out to eat somewhere, he has no problem ordering a meat dish (besides a little bit of guilt).
I don’t want to impose my belief system on anyone else, so I don’t make a fuss about him ordering meat when we eat out since we don’t do it too often. However, as a manly man, I know he probably misses out on all the guy-foods.
Sean’s mom’s side of the family is from the Kentucky/Ohio area where Skyline Chili is the fast-food go to. When he and I first started dating he took me there and I tried not to throw up on myself.
Their most popular dish is called a “Three Way” which is chili and shredded cheese on top of noodles. Weird, right? Apparently, everyone up there loves it.
Saturday night, I decided to surprise Sean (and make the easiest dinner of my life) with a three way… The chili kind, you guys, jeez.
- 1 can of Trader Joe’s vegetarian chili
- Egg noodles
- Shredded cheese
1. Cook noodles & heat up chili in a separate pot.
2. When noodles are done, put in bowls and pour chili over.
3. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
4. Eat your face off.
I made some baby broccoli with it so we’d have something green too. Done and done.
And I got the official Sean seal of approval, “It’s not bad.”
