Game of Thrones and Spring Cleaning

Monday! I hope you’re having a great one so far, and that your weekend was marvelous. Mine was a lot of cleaning and watching Game of Thrones. Sean has been trying to get me to read the books forever. I tried and just wasn’t really interested. So, he bought the first season of the HBO series on Blu Ray, and now I’m hooked. I still don’t want to read the books because (pardon me if I offend anyone) I don’t like George R. R. Martin’s writing style. The TV series, however, is wonderfully captivating. We watched the entire first season between Friday and Sunday, and I’m going to have to order the second season (and maybe HBO) because I just can’t wait to see what happens.

Game of Thrones

It’s hard to pick just one favorite character. But I obviously like the Stark family (sucks for me since they apparently all end up deadzo). I also like Daenerys Targaryen, Kahl Drogo, Jorah Mormont, Tyrion Lannister, mostly everyone who’s even a little bit on the good side. Sean already told me what happened (because I threatened to look it up anyway if he didn’t tell me), but I wish someone would cut off Joffrey’s extremities one by one until he dies in the series for what he does to the Starks. What a total jerk-wad of a teenager! Anyway…

We did a super spring cleaning this weekend, taking things apart and cleaning walls and nooks and crannies. Cleaning is hard work. My back was super sore Saturday night from trying to twist myself into small spaces and clean out dust fairies who have lived in corners since before we moved here, I’m sure. I also made a big, hearty, veggie stew. Throw some veggies in a pot, add some broth, cook, and voila! It was the perfect weekend to clean and make soup, though, since it was soggy and rainy and chilly here in Atlanta.

It was also a good weekend to take cat naps!

Rainy weather meant canceled soccer games (playing on saturated fields destroys the turf), so I made it to a Turbo Kick class on Saturday. Sean and I went running (a quick 5k) on Sunday afternoon just because I felt like I’d been sitting on the couch, eating too many sweets (it’s true, I was), and it’s just a good way to kick off the week!

I hope your week is wonderful. I’m excited because I have some big news to share on Friday. It’s going to be so hard to wait that long to tell you!

Happy Monday!
