I did a lot of walking this weekend. I feel like it could have been better if it were running, but I’m not there yet. I also spent a lot of time watching the CrossFit games and eating junk food. There’s nothing like cheering on the fittest people in the world while making brownies, cupcakes, and veggie mac & cheese. We’re adults here, I promise.
I think I walked a total of 1.5 miles this weekend. Wow. Riveting. Remember when I was marathon training and spent my Saturdays running 20 miles? Now I’m proud of walking a mile in one day and icing my ankle for an hour afterward. How can I be 5 years old and 80 all at once?
In between walking and eating, guess what else I did? Sleep. Like a champ. We took a nap Saturday afternoon that lasted a lot longer than I planned, but when I tried to wake up it was like I’d been drugged. So, I just gave in and slept for another hour. It was glorious. Heaven.
Sunday was pretty relaxed, as well. Sean went on a run, so I went on a walk around the neighborhood and took pictures of the flowers. Sunday included pizza, the CONCACAF Gold Cup (go USA!), the CrossFit games, reading by the pool, a little bit of at-home physical therapy in the pool, buying a pull-up bar and a real ice pack for my ankle, and going to bed early.
I wish the weekend lasted longer. I just looked and the next Monday holiday is in September. Oh well, might as well make the best of Monday. There wasn’t really a point to this post, but I hope your day is wonderful. 🙂
