I complained on Facebook the other day that I haven’t slept through the night since before I broke my leg, then magically, as soon as I wrote that, I slept through the night 4 of the last 5 nights. It takes me a little bit to actually fall asleep after I get in bed, but t seems like once I do I’m totally out.
Now that I’ve put that into the world, I’ll stop sleeping so well.
I’ve been going to bed with an ice pack on my leg every night, and last night I didn’t even wake up in the middle of the night to take it off. Woke up with a hot, sweaty clay ice pack still wrapped around my ankle. Yum.
Not waking up in the middle of the night also means that I don’t sit there awake waiting for my alarm to go off. This means when it actually goes off, I do that surprised wake up jerk out of bed to turn it off. I try not to wake Sean up, because who like to get up at 4:30 beside me? So when I don’t pre-wake up to take the alarm and put it under my pillow, I always feel like it’s excruciatingly loud.
In other news, it’s. finally. Friday. And on Labor Day weekend, at that. I think we’re going to do some home improvement, go kayaking, and sleep a lot this weekend. It’s been a busy week at work for me (which is why I’ve pretty much been MIA), so I plan on using the extra day off to my advantage, which, to me, means working out, sleeping, and eating.
What are you Labor Day weekend plans?
