Weekend, Don’t Go!

Another weekend gone by too quickly. Since Sean’s work is still on shutdown, he offered to clean the house on Friday. That was nice, since it meant we could spend all of the rest of the weekend doing more fun stuff like eating and sleeping. We got groceries on Friday night, and just spent time being lazy at home.

Saturday was soccer, and I’m happy to report that I suck 50% less than the past three weeks. I half-joked/half-promised my team that I should be able to actually trap a ball by the end of the season. My team won (always a good feeling), and I headed home to eat, shower, and take a little nap. This is what happens every Saturday. Soccer, lunch, shower, sleep.

When I got up, I made these very tasty pumpkin spice cookies. In between them coming out of the oven, cooling, and being frosted, I probably had about 8+ cookies. So good. I don’t like pumpkin spice lattes and all that other stuff, but these are pretty delicious.

Saturday night I headed to meet some friend from my gym for a girls pizza, ice cream, and movie night. We watched Girls Just Want to Have Fun, a cute chick flick from the 80s. It had Sarah Jessica Parker, Helen Hunt, and Shannen Doherty back when they were younger than I am. I’d never seen it before. I need to get caught up on my chick flicks.

We had great pizza at a hole-in-the-wall place called Rosa’s. I brought yummy ice cream, and one friend brought brownies and cookies. So good. It was also good to get to know my gym friends outside of the gym. I’m sure I made an idiot of myself, as I am wont to do. Oh well. I’ll be a weirdo forever. I need to get used to it.

Sunday was pretty lazy. I’ve been quite sore from Thursday’s WOD (deadlifts) + lunchtime running, Friday’s WOD (lunges) + lunchtime running, and Saturday soccer. My legs and butt welcomed the few small walks on Sunday plus nothing else. We went to the mall and walked around, had lunch at Panera, and took a little nap. I don’t want the week to start again!

I hope you have a wonderful Monday and that it takes it easy on you!
