I feel like everyone except Georgia got snow with the latest round of the polar vortex. I know it’s a hassle for everyone everywhere else, but I really wish we’d get a little something. That’s what I get for living in the south, I know. We are at least getting the cold weather that makes it feel like winter, I guess.
I’ve been working on my Super Bowl food Pinterest board recently, and I’m pretty excited about it. I wish they’d move it to Saturday, though instead of Sunday.Whose idea was Super Bowl Sunday? Everyone (except the players) has to work the next day. And if you’re going to make it Super Bowl Sunday, start at noon, so we don’t have to stay up WAY past bedtime to watch.
Back to the food… I’m pretty excited about it this year. Since we’re eating meat again, Super Bowl snacks are a lot more fun for me. I want to do a fruit & veggie tray but also little pigs in a blanket, and lemonade, and potato skins, etc. This is all for two of us, mind you. We would invite people over except for the Sunday thing and the fact that we don’t have a guest-friendly furniture situation. Unless you like the floor.
In searching for fun Super Bowl foods, I found some pretty weird stuff. Like pickle roll ups, for example. You take a pickle, cover it with cream cheese and wrap it in a beef lunch meat slice. Then you slice it into coins. Voila, pickle rolls ups? I have no idea, but apparently it’s a delicacy in the Midwest. I don’t like them, but I’m sure fried pickles seem the same to the pickle roll uppers.
My favorite gif makes another appearance!
Can it be Friday yet? I’m pretty excited at the prospect of sleeping and being lazy and wearing my fleece pajama pants at all hours of the day.
